Mongolian Octopus cartoon.

The Mongolian Octopus could mean the labour of children, the robbery of place, opium, smallpox, pakahpu, bribery and fan-tan. The meaning of it is to show things that were a major issue back then.

Children getting used for jobs adults could be doing and getting paid a lot less while getting hurt on the job for not doing it. In the cartoon of the Mongolian Octopus shows children getting used for labour. Robbery was a major issue back than with families trying to be feed and having to end of stealing food to feed the family, people also became to turn to bribery, trying to feed their family and get medicine and other items. Shown in the cartoon stealing. Smallpox is a disease mainly got back than, meaning people’s skin was ruined by the virus going around. People became to act ‘immorality’.

This was all shown in the Mongolian Octopus cartoon.
